Robbie Amell, who starred in the canceled series The Tomorrow People and then a supporting role on The Flash both for the CW. Gets the lead role on this comedy by Greg Daniels who also created Parks and Recreation and the upcoming Netflix series Space Force.

This sci-fi comedy is almost like a spin off of a Black Mirror episode. Imagine a future that before dying you would have the option to upload your conscience into a hard drive that could be added to a "heaven" of your choosing, depending of course on your budget. Then your living relatives could call you on the phone, with audio or even video call, again, depending on your budget, maybe virtually visit you at your new home. Of course your living relatives would have to support you financially for the rest of their lives or as long as they want you around.

Nathan (played by Amell) suffers an accident and his girlfriend Ingrid (played by Allegra Edwards) decides to upload her boyfriend to her family retirement plan, she comes from a very wealthy family. But this also means that she would be the owner of her boyfriend. Everything he does would be payed entirely by her and his in-laws.

To help his transition he is appointed and "Angel" (played by Andy Allo) she helps Nathan to adapt to this new lifestyle and help him figure out all the different options that are now available for him. She soon discovers that there is something "funny" about his death and starts looking into it.

The series has a ver light tone, is a comedy after all, but it doest make you think if we would want that option in a near future, the advantages and disadvantages of it. And for me what bothered me the most was the fact that your relatives would have to continue paying, in order for you to continue your afterlife. That doesn't sound fun at all.

Is a great series that Amazon Prime has already ordered a second season. Amazing news considering it was released a couple of weeks ago. But I suppose it played really well on their platform.

Amell is a delight, he has charisma, and of course pleasant to the eye, wink wink. We missed him on the Arrowverse and now that we can't watch his cousin Stephen on a weekly basis on Arrow. This series is greatly appreciated for bringing us at least one of the Amells back. They both star in the Netflix film Code 8, that they both produced. So there is that if you are a fan or want to see more of the Amell cousins.

Upload is fun, creative a little bit predictable, but overall a great binge for a weekend.
