I must confess that I added this series to my playlist just because Maxi Iglesias (Velvet, Ingobernable) was going to be in it.

I know, I know. Not very profesional of me. This is a female centric dramedy about Valeria (played by Diana Gómez) and her group of besties. They navigate between work, love life, sex, family and personal growth.

The first episode is not exactly a right foot step, it's almost a left foot first step. But somehow manages a steady rhythm and connect with this four friends. They are like any group of friends, they support each other, love each other, and yes hate and fight each other sometimes.

Valeria is a complicated character that I don't know if sometimes you were rooting for her or just wanted her to grow up, for some they might find this interesting and probably love the series for it. But I think it could have been different. Don't want to say better, but sometimes the character was out of place and yes I know the story is about growing up and deciding whats best for you. But still.

The series was created by María López Castaño and if you are familiar with Spanish series, and trust me there are some amazing guilty pleasures from there. You might have watched or heard about Grand Hotel (that had an unfortunate US version), Physics or Chemistry (that introduced us to papasito Maxi Iglesias) and more recently Diablo Guardián for Amazon Prime Mexico. She worked on this series as a writer. Valeria had a soft reception but it probably will be renewed for a second season. Spain has been a very consistent and spoiled country for Netflix.

This is a chic series, but even as that there was some magic missing in it. Maybe they will find it in a second entry. And I will watch if they bring Maxi back. I still have a candle lit for him, I want him to find the perfect series for him to star in.
