Another month has passed instead of cancelations we had news of renewals. The month started with great news Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist was renewed for a second season. For me this was amazing news I was a big fan of the first season and can't wait for the second to arrive, whenever the pandemic is going to let them.

Another show renewed was the animated Crossing Swords from Hulu, not really surprised by this decision, this series would probably win more fans with time.

Finally Never HaveI Ever also got the green light for a second season, somehow I feel it took forever for this news, Netflix really took its time with this one, and for me this was a no brainer. The first season was really good and I don't think is an expensive show.

We didn't have cancelations, but we did have people getting fired from their shows. First we might loose the greatest gay couple of tv, before the writer's make our wishes come true in 9-1-1. Ryan Guzman stepped into some trouble in social media after trying to defend his wife from some old tweets she did. Things escalated to the point where co-star and hopeful on screen boyfriend Oliver Stark took his social media arguing that his co-star was in the wrong and in no way reflected his own stand on the subject. All of this in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement. Still fear to hear news that Ryan Guzman is getting fired from the show. He did apologize for his comments, promising to be better.

Hartley Sawyer who plays or played Elongated Man in The Flash also got his own #TBT with some misogynist tweets. Well actually misogynist doesn't even cover it. Still they were from 2014 and back, before his time on the show, but production decided to fire him before giving him the chance to apologize. I don't agree with his tweets, they were very offensive, maybe taken out of context, but still very offensive. But I don't agree that they just fired him before giving the chance to apologize, those tweets were really old before he was even hired for the job. I also think that we don't know the whole picture, and maybe it was a long over due kick out of the show, maybe he was showing that attitude on set and had some complains from coworkers. If that is not the case, it was an unfair firing, they should've let him apologize for his hurtful words from the past.

The CW and Berlanti Productions were on the spotlight. Vanessa Morgan who stars on Riverdale complained about how black characters were reduced to white character's sidekicks, also that she makes less money than her fellow costars despite the fact she is also a regular on the show. Elsewhere in the twitterverse rumours started that Morgan was heard to be the next Batwoman. Also on that same channel news came that Ruby Rose's character wasn't going to be recasted, but were looking for a new Batwoman to be a new character on the show. If before season 1 existed they were to tell us that Vanessa Morgan or another non white actress would play the role, I would have been totally on board. But erasing Kate Kane and with that the whole season 1 just to make Vanessa happy and get out of that spotlight, well I'm not on board for that. We needed no explanations as to why Kate would have a new face, but she needed to be white, because Ruby was white, and they were recasting her. But creating a new character just so they can cast a more diverse actress, well...that was back before season 1. There is plenty of characters in the DC universe that they can add to the show or to a whole new show were they can diversify their casting methods. I am a big fan of Greg Berlanti and his productions, but this was an unnecessary mess.

Now to other matters

Legendary. Still very obsessed with this show that single handedly saved June Thursday nights. At the same time worst timing ever, this show is meant to be viewed with a group of friends on a large screen, killer sound, cocktails and themed dress code. Won't spoil you but I was beyond mad when they kicked a certain house right before semi finals. 1 of the 4 houses left doesn't deserve to be there. They never did what needed to be done, and yet, there they are.

Stargirl. Same can be said for this young superhero that brights my Monday nights. The show is still going at a very good pace, very entertaining, very well done. Still on track for an A grade. She has one of the best team of villains ever. The Flash and Supergirl envy this villains.

The Bold Type. Returned for their last batch of episodes of their season 4. This is a series with a perfect balance of light and dramatic story lines, and the girls deliver every single episode. This show still feels fresh even though they are four seasons old.

Doom Patrol. They moved this show from DC Universe to HBOmax. Season 2 is back they dropped the first three episodes last week and from now on they will deliver them on a weekly basis. As crazy as the first season was, this show is still going strong surprising me once again, as Stargirl this show is on track for an A grade.

Perry Mason. This series has almost the exact same premise as Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels minus the supernatural, at least so far. I'm still not loving it, but it has a great production and some good performances, maybe with City Of Angels out of the way Perry can find a path of its own.

Dirty John. This series started with a bang, then the next couple of episodes weren't that great, but still good, and it's looking to get a lot better towards the end. Amanda Peet is giving me the role of a lifetime. Christian Slater he is so easy to hate, his character is one of the worst husbands in TV history.

We are starting the middle of summer, the pandemic is still hitting hard most networks and streaming services, but the real problem would start this fall with a lack of TV shows ready to air.
