Jen (played by Christina Applegate) and Judy (played by Linda Cardellini) are back with more unfortunate events that will complicate more her lives, but somehow make you still root for them. It is almost impossible not to like this characters and want to protect them and scream to the screen to just stop and give them a break.
If I had to choose I will give once again my vote to Cardellini's performance. She's an amazing actress and this is the series that she needs and still gets. Bloodline was also amazing, if you haven't watch that one, go and binge it now.
Dead To Me had an amazing first season and yes, let's talk about those slow first episodes from this second season. It almost felt that they had an amazing first run but a weak second season, like many other one season wonders. But it touches bottom by mid season and the second half is just as amazing as it was the first the season, and we remember why we loved that one so much.
I won't tell much about the story because... spoilers... but lets just say that these two women can't seem to catch a break. From the lovers they choose, to Jen's children that keep getting them into more trouble than they can handle, To taking a dive into the dark web.
The series was widely snubbed by the Globes and the Emmys getting just one nod for Christina Applegate's performance. The Writer's Guild Of America awarded Liz Fieldman its creator for Episodic Comedy. I don't have high hopes for more award nods for the second season, the comedy category is also very tough to break in. Still have a candle for Cardellini that was snubbed the first time around.
If you watched the first season you are in for a ride this second season. If you haven't watch Dead To Me go and binge the two seasons right now. No day but today.
