Amazon is desperately trying to gain market in Mexico. The key word in the past sentence is "desperately". They are green lighting some very questionable projects, like this series.

Sebastian (played by Sebastían Zurita) is a one hit wonder actor, about to attend the 10 year anniversary party of his last and only successful film. To make the night even more special he plans to propose to his long time girlfriend Lucia (played by Pamela Almanza) and actress that has more offers than he does. Things don't go as planned at the premiere and the couple break up by the end of the night. Sebastian broken hearted is supported by his core group of friends.

Over the next nine episodes they would try and push him to find more work, to continue dating, to get into dating apps, anything to take his mind away from Lucia. .

The good thing about the project is Zurita, he's charming and with some comedy skills and well mostly his looks. I watched the whole 10 episodes just to watch his smile and those gratuitous scenes in just his underwear.

The rest of the cast we can argue if they are just bad actors or a very bad screenplay. Yes there's also a bad direction and bad production. But mostly the script. There are countless sequences in the series that are suppose to be funny but they are not.

Some of them just plain ridiculous, the whole game Fabiana and Gonzo had (played by Tato Alexander and Octavio Hinojosa) was not believable, situations that just don't happen in Mexico, probably anywhere. Like sending a mariachi band to the coffee shop she's in to sing her a song that only says "fuck with me" or asking the barista of that same shop to put those words instead of her name on her coffee. That is not only not funny, but seems like they tried to make harassment look funny.

On another episode titled HIV+. Here it was an acronym for a master class for men about how to hook up with women. I won't even go into more details about this whole episode, but it's safe to say that it was plain wrong. Again trying to make fun about something as serious as being HIV+.

Who are to blame about this lack of sensitivity? Obviously its creators Emiliano and Sebastián Zurita. Yes, the love of my life and his brother are a couple of douches. Also Marcos Bucay who worked on a couple of episodes of Club Of Crows, for Netflix Mexico.

Over the course of the series they had a couple of cameos, almost all of the R.B.D. cast, Christian Chavez, Maite Perroni and Alfonso Herrera, probably the only cast member from Sense8 that wasn't call for The Matrix 4. Also Vadhir Derbez had a cameo on this series. But none of those special appearances worked, maybe Christian Chavez who had a small story arc, but the rest of them seemed forced.

The last two episodes are not as bad as the rest of them, but I'm not completely sure if they left things open for a second season, if they do I hope that the Zurita brothers ask for writer recommendations from his famous friends, because I'm sure none of them would accept doing a cameo again on this show.
