Some of us love She-Ra since the original show, She-Ra Princess Of Power aired in the 80's. This reboot was intended to introduce the character to younger audiences, more specifically younger female audiences and not intended to be loved by their 80's fanbase.

I must confess that I was a little disappointed by this, some of the animated content in Netflix is not intended for children, there's also young adult and more mature series like Big Mouth or Ultraman. I thought that She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power would go that way. But decided to give it a try anyway and five seasons later here I am watching the final season of the series.

There are a lot of good messages across this series as whole. The fact that most of the characters are female. The stories are about spreading good, friendship, partnership, working together, taking care of the planet, respect among species. And even though there is some romance here and there, the life of this princesses doesn't revolve about finding a man or a woman to fulfill their lives. Yes there is a lesbian couple in this series and their story is very organic, they don't make a fuss about them or a coming out story, and that's the best thing of it.

The villain here is Lord Prime, an entity that sees all. He connects with his subjects and make them think like him and orders them what to do using this connection among them. The series slowly builded up to this point in the series finale, where we have this final battle between She-Ra and her friends vs Lord Prime.

As in past seasons there are episodes that have a lighter tone with more kid friendly funny storylines, and some other episodes where the big story arc moves forward. This story arc is a little bit more mature and they put aside some of the childish play. Also all of our princesses are a little bit older, they are not little girls anymore. They are adult women fighting for their kingdoms.

I don't understand why they decided to put an end to this series, probably to leave the road to He-Man and the reboot for that 80's series. When they announced that animated project they asked again the question if either She-Ra or He-Man would crossover between series. My understanding is that He-Man would be a more mature project and not for kids only. Maybe in order to not confuse the audience they decided to end She-Ra's run.

She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power had a solid five season run, with a good rhythm. Dreamworks did a very decent job for a tv show with the animation. He-Man might have the road all for himself now and probably won't have it hard to get under her cousin's shadow. But it's not going to be that easy to win us over.
